WAITROSE: MIGRANT FISHERS IN THE UK
PRE-DEPARTURE FILMS
Four films that I directed, filmed and edited shot in all four countries in the UK over a series of multi-day fishing trips. These films have been made to show people coming to work in the UK fishing industry what this work will involve, the conditions and an understanding of what they should expect in terms of pay, working conditions and rest time. The UK fishing industry is heavily reliant on foreign labour to keep its fleets out on the waves and there have been cases of abuse. These films, made in association with The Seafarers' Charity and Stella Maris, will be shared online via social media, across designated apps, in training centres and through organisations such as the International Transport Workers' Federation.
