In Hawaii with Sarah-Jeanne Royer: How one woman found a new source of warming gases hidden in waste
Before setting off, we spent 24 hrs with @sustainablecoastlineshawaii and Dr Sarah-Jeanne Royer doing a beach clean on the windward side of Oahu. It was shocking. What should've been one of the most beautiful beaches in the world was covered in colourful fragments of plastic that had been washed up by the Pacific Ocean. It was great to meet Sarah-Jeanne and take this photos of her as she identified the type plastic that different fragments were and what they might have been.
